Driftsea ("the App", "we", "us") is a single‑player, anonymous, one‑way reading experience. You can release a piece of writing into a simulated ocean and let it drift away; you can also draw up fragments of writing that strangers have released — but you can only read them. There is no chat, no replies, no friends, no profiles, and no way to contact another person. This policy explains, honestly, what data the App does and does not handle.
Driftsea is built so that personally identifiable information never reaches any system the operator can access. There is no sign‑up, no login, and no account. We do not ask for, and do not collect, your name, email address, phone number, Apple ID, date of birth, or precise location.
Your private data — the fragments you collect, your shell balance, and metadata about what you have released — is stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit private database). For this data, Apple is the data controller, it stays under your Apple ID, and we cannot browse it. This is what lets you recover your data on a new device without ever logging in.
Our backend runs in the European Union (Supabase, EU region) with file storage on Cloudflare R2 (EU). The only things stored there are:
A release is tagged with a random identifier generated on your device (an anon-… UUID). It contains no Apple ID, email, or name, and there is no table that maps it back to a real person. It exists only so the App can manage drift and recovery.
A large portion of the writing in Driftsea is generated by AI and curated for quality. The App may also use on‑device intelligence to lightly enhance text; this processing happens on your device and is never sent to the cloud.
Public content is filtered automatically (contact information, links, and prohibited content are blocked at submission) and reviewed before it goes live. You can report any fragment from within the App. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours and to remove violating content promptly.
Subscriptions, one‑time purchases, and "shells" are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. Apple is the merchant of record; we never see your payment card or billing details. Shells never expire.
We store only what the service needs. Released content has a lifetime ("horizon"); once it passes the horizon it sinks permanently and its encrypted payload can be deleted and is no longer recoverable. We do not keep browsing history, location trails, or device fingerprints.
Because we hold no identifiable personal data about you, there is little to expose — but you remain in control. The App's Settings include "Delete my data", which clears your local and synced data and sends a deletion request to the backend. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR (access, erasure, restriction, objection). Contact us using the address below.
Driftsea is rated 16+ and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers acting as processors: Apple (App Store, iCloud/CloudKit), Supabase (EU database/functions), and Cloudflare (EU storage, email routing for our support address). We do not sell your data and we do not use third‑party advertising or tracking SDKs.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.

Driftsea 在設計上確保「可識別的個人資料」永遠不會進入營運方能存取的任何系統。沒有註冊、沒有登入、沒有帳號。我們不索取、也不蒐集你的姓名、電子郵件、手機號碼、Apple ID、出生日期或精確位置。
你的私人資料——你收藏的碎片、貝殼餘額,以及你撒出內容的相關資料——存放在你個人的 iCloud 帳戶(Apple CloudKit 私有資料庫)。對這部分資料,Apple 是資料控管者,資料歸屬在你的 Apple ID 之下,我們無法瀏覽。正因如此,你無需登入也能在新裝置上找回資料。
我們的後端運行於歐盟(Supabase 歐盟區),檔案儲存使用 Cloudflare R2(歐盟)。那裡僅存放:
每筆撒出紀錄會帶一個在你裝置上產生的隨機識別碼(anon-… 形式的 UUID)。它不含 Apple ID、電子郵件或姓名,也不存在任何能反查到自然人的對照表。它僅用於 App 內管理漂流與找回。
Driftsea 中很大一部分文字由 AI 生成並經品質篩選。本 App 也可能使用裝置端智慧對文字做輕度增強;該處理在你的裝置本機完成,絕不上傳雲端。
公開內容會被自動過濾(提交時即攔截聯絡方式、連結及違禁內容),並在上線前經過審核。你可在 App 內對任意碎片提出檢舉。我們力求在 24 小時內處置檢舉並即時移除違規內容。
訂閱、買斷及「貝殼」均由 Apple 透過 App Store 處理。Apple 為法定收款方,我們絕不接觸你的信用卡或帳單資訊。貝殼永不過期。
我們只儲存服務必需的資料。撒出內容有其生命週期(horizon);一旦越過 horizon 即永久沉海,其加密內容可被刪除且不再可找回。我們不保存瀏覽紀錄、位置軌跡或裝置指紋。
由於我們並不持有可識別你的個人資料,可揭露的內容本就極少——但控制權始終在你手中。App「設定」中提供「刪除我的資料」,會清空你的本機與同步資料,並向後端發送刪除請求。若你位於歐盟/歐洲經濟區或英國,你享有 GDPR 下的權利(查閱、刪除、限制、反對)。請透過下方信箱與我們聯絡。
Driftsea 分級為 16+,並非面向兒童。我們不會有意蒐集兒童資料。
